Cross Merit

Today our school got the chance to honor Mr Burt with a haka and a himene for achieving his goal and getting a very important metal from the Queen of England, Theres only about five 5 hundred people in New Zealand that have gotten a Cross Merit metal.

I would like to thank Mr Burt for achieving his goal and becoming an awesome role model to all of us not just us but the ones that left and the ones that are about to enter Pt England school.

Why do we do Mihi, Karakia and Himene

This is some of the answer some of our class mates came up with this morning.
1 To build up confidence and to speak to bigger audience,
2 To connect and remember what our ancestors did ,
3 To get us ready for our day of learning or our future,
4 knowing were we all game from,
5 Representing our school our community and our environment,
6 connect us to the Atua, greater power source .
